We Believe:
A microchurch is the most basic expression of the church. Our ecclesiology is simple. When believers participate in authentic community and sincere worship and have a shared mission— this is the church.
We believe the local church is still God's primary and preferred means of reconciling creation back into a right relationship with himself. Therefore, planting new churches is essential to the spread of the gospel.
We believe the Church is the actual body and believers of Christ. It is not the building, budget, programs, or services.
The foundations of a microchurch can be found in the book of Acts and the Early Church. Acts 2: 42-47 is a picture of the microchurch model and a way to love God, love your neighbor, and build the Kingdom of God.
Microchurches work best when they are planted within your already existing network of relationships, such as a workplace, neighborhood, sports team, hobby group, coffee shop, or friend group.
Authentic Community:
A microchurch can be creative in how it practices community, worship, and mission. For example, a church can be called to a specific place like a neighborhood, coffee shop, or bar. It can be specific in mission, like serving a school, non-profit, or a certain demographic or group of people. It can be created around a hobby like running, biking, or painting.
Microchurches function best when they are planted among an existing network of relationships: neighbors, moms groups, co-workers, small groups, etc. These groups are a natural hub of authentic community.
The culture of microchurch centers on Mark 12: 30-31 to love God and neighbor.
Genuine Worship:
If the central reason for your gathering is Jesus, it is worship. Therefore, we affirm a broader understanding of worship. We include simple practices like prayer, spiritual conversation, communion, or bible studies as acts of worship.
We encourage all microchurches to reject the temptation for the worship service to be the primary function of the Church. While some microchurches will gather on Sunday mornings, others can meet on weeknights or during a lunch break.
Worship is primarily our response to what God has done and is doing in our lives. In other words, worship is not about us. We seek to move away from a consumeristic and individualistic approach to worship.
Our worship should be forming and shaping us to become more like Jesus, and sending us to love and serve our neighbors.
Shared Mission:
The Church's mission is focused on two primary areas: Word (evangelism) and Deed (mission). The church is the integration of these two things. We seek to be balanced in our message of the gospel and works of mercy for the poor, marginalized, and underprivileged.
Microchurches are focused on loving the lost and making disciples that make disciples.
Microchurch’s focus on multiplication. We place a high emphasis on planting and launching other microchurches. This allows us to continue breaking into new communities, people groups, and places where the lost can be found and whose needs be met in Jesus’ name.
